The Measure of a Man

He is not poor who has a friend
to share is sorrow till the end,
Who daily does some little thing
that tends to make a sad heart sing.

He is not poor who gives away
the gift of laughter every day,
Who shares the pain and yet can smile
because He knows that life's worthwhile.

He is not poor who dare to fight
for what he feels is true and right...
The unsung hero, at his best,
the unknown soldier laid to rest.

He is not poor who does these things
Although he has no diamond rings,
Because his wealth is stored above
and measured by God's staff of love.
