Lack of Faith

 

 Why do we keep on falling

And never find the way

That holds the peace and joys of life

For which we plead and pray;

Is it because we lack the faith

To trust unto the Lord

And offer Him just empty prayers,

In hopes of some reward;

And is this why He lets us fall

To suffer varied fates -

Because He sees our doubting hearts

And lack of trust and faith?

I'm sure it is - and also sure -

He waits to hear our prayer

That calls to Him - with honest faith -

To take us in His care

And - then - He will make light the ways

To what He, now, denies

And we will never fall again

Or have the need to cry.
