Dandelions

Dandelions in the grass,
On a bright spring day,
Brown bees buzz, and robins chirp,
Children shout and play.

Dandelion face up-turned
Like a yellow brush.
Short stemmed floweret adorns,
Green grass, deep and lush.

Dandelions plucked in haste,
By little fingers,
Of the summer days to come,
Cheerful harbingers.

Soon each yellow face will wilt,
And the blossom fade,
Other flowers take their place
In the forest glade.

To keep our faces bright and
Bravely live each day,
Is the lesson we can learn
From this flower gay.

The flowers appear
on the earth.
