My cottage of contentment
Sits beside the lane,
A shelter from the elements,
The wind, the snow, the rain.
My cottage of contentment
Is more than walls and stairs,
It's a place for sharing
Life's joys, its trials, its cares.
My cottage of contentment
Is a haven dear,
Where caring hearts co-mingle
In laughter and in tear.
My cottage of contentment
Is no palace rare,
But love abides within it
To give it beauty fair!
