Trust

 

"You're skating on thin ice,

You're due for a fall" -

These tried-and-true phrases,

I heard someone call.

 

My chin firmly set,

my nose in the air,

I chose not to listen,

forgot how to care.

 

The skaters whizzed by me,

the wind in their face,

blades gleaming bright

as they started to race.

 

I wanted to follow,

my feet felt like lead,

I couldn't keep up,

fell behind instead.

 

"Take hold of my hand,

give me your arm,

Rely on my love,

I'll keep you from harm."

 

So trust in the Lord

to be your true Guide,

Skate with the Lord

always at your side.
