The Merry Bells of Christmastime

The merry  bells of Christmastime
Ring joyously to send the word;
In solemn notes of earthly cheer,
About the world their truth is heard.

Within their rhythm and their time,
Somehow they strike a harmony,
Though separated by the miles,
Bound only by humanity.

Yet in those ancient bells that chime,
A certain message seems to cling,
Uniting every Christian heart
To Jesus, Savior, Lord, and King.

Oh, let them ring, those Christmas bells;
Let every mortal heart rejoice,
For God, the Father, wills it so
That we might hear His gentle voice.
