December's Visitor

Christmas

comes calling

with pageants and wings,

with ribbons and holly

and popcorn on strings,

with boxes of tinsel,

with chestnuts and pies.

Christmas comes calling

with joy in her eyes.

Christmas

comes calling

with carols and bells,

with sparkling trees

and gingerbread smells,

with snowflakes and starlight

through cities and farm.

Christmas come calling

with peace in her arms.
