Lest I Forget, Lord

 

 Lest I forget to thank You, Lord,

For all You've done for me,

Not only now, but every day,

Please "jog" my memory.

Lest I forget that in each life

Your children here below

Have some distress akin to mine..

All this, I need to know.

Fill me with Your compassion

And a love for everyone..

To overlook the faults in them

And see the good they've done.

For I am weak just like the rest

And need Your saving grace,

The glory of eternity

Will be to see Your face!

I must be sure I've done my best..

God, help me as I try.

We only have one life to live..

There is a time to die.
