The Silence of the Soul

 

Lord let me know the silence,

The silence of the soul,

That I may hear Your voice

And make Your will my goal.

 

Let silence then take over

The one and only me,

That charity may enter

And set my spirit free.

 

For silence did prevail

When earth and sea were made,

When Jesus, Lord, was born

And in the manger laid.

 

Please lead me to compassion

And so to charity,

And finally through silence

Grant me humility.
