Take Your Joy from Him

 

 Things will sometimes hurt us,

And people won't be true -

Some will never give to us

The things we think our due!

But whatever happens -

Ne'er let your praises dim;

Raise your voice in thankfulness,

Take your joy from Him!

 

The sacrifice of thankfulness

Is better than to grieve;

Keeps your heart prepared

The better to receive!

Don't close your heart to others,

Still let the sunshine in;

And while you wait for others

Take your joy from Him!
