Light

I am Light.
I bring warmth and happiness.
I seek out all places on the earth,
Even to the depths of the sea.
I am the spark of happiness on the face of a child
And the glow of remembrance in the eyes of the old.
I shine in the hearts of all men;
And, though I be hidden from sight,
The ember still burns,
Waiting to be rekindled in the look of a friend.

I am in the greeting of a boy for his first puppy,
and a man for his bride.
I am Light.
I am a rainbow reaching to the heavens
to renew man’s covenant with God.
My colors reflect the peace of a meadow
and the tranquility of a lake.
I am Light.
I guide the wanderer to a place of rest.
I breathe life into all things,
and watch over them as they grow.
I am Light.
I am Love.

  1. This is the entire poem - If you saw this in Ideals, it was condensed. I was looking at my Christmas tree when I composed it. - Jackie

  2. Hello, Anne, I'm glad you liked my poem. Ideals only published a part of it - here's all of it.

    1. Thank you for your message, Jackie. Yes, it is from Ideals. Oh, why did they have to condense it; it is such a lovely poem! I edited it and included the entire poem for you and my blog readers. It is a big honor for me to have the authors of the poems I include in this blog come and visit. Please do drop by my blog porch again. God bless you. :)
