Even As You And I

A frightened flower caught within
A raging storm bent down its head
It drooped in languishment, and I
Thought surely morn would find it dead.
But with the sun it raised its face,
Its petaled heart half torn with pain,
And do you know its fragrance was
So much the sweeter for the rain!
