Wonderful Wintertime

Beneath a sky of cobalt blue,
The day is wrapped in winter's hue.
Diamond-sprinkled snowflakes fly,
Like frost-kissed magic from on high.

Vivid blue jays, brave and bold,
Hop around and loudly scold.
Cardinals decorate the scene,
On snowy boughs of evergreen.

Icy winds sculpt drifts of white
And etch each silver-frosted night.
December hangs her frozen head
And sleeps upon an ermine bed.
